A Zimbabwean delegation led by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Frederick Shava is in Davos, Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum on Africa (WEF) which brings together African leaders and top world business executives to discuss investment and trade issues on the continent.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade said Shava was attending the forum together with his Cabinet colleagues Mthuli Ncube (Finance and Economic Development) and Sekai Nzenza (Industry and Commerce). The theme of this year’s WEF annual meeting is “Cooperation in a

Fragmented World” and it will be attended by leaders from government, business, and civil society to discuss the state of the world and discuss priorities for the year 2023.

“Zimbabwe is using this platform to engage in a constructive, forward-thinking manner in order to find solutions to its people’s needs through public-private sector cooperation,” said the Ministry.

The forum presents Zimbabwe with yet another good opportunity to market itself to world business leaders, and to advance its engagement and re-engagement agenda with other nations whose leaders would also be in attendance.

The WEF is an independent, international organisation whose aim is to help expand global economic interface by companies and countries through engaging business, political leaders, academia and other leaders of society. — New Ziana
