ZIMBABWE’S motocross champion rider Ashley Thixton and ZTN Prime have entered a partnership deal ahead of the 2024 Dakar Rally where the former will participate in.

Thixton, who is out of the upcoming Summer Series as he is preparing for the Dakar Rally, said he is happy with the partnership and is looking forward to a good working relationship.

“I am happy for this day, which has seen me joining hands with ZTN Prime ahead of my adventure in the Dakar Rally. Having started racing at the age of four I am grateful that I have some organisations who have faith in me.

“I have been preparing for the 2024 edition of the Dakar Rally and this has seen me missing out in the Summer Series set for next month. I sustained an injury the last time so I am not taking any risks as I look forward to do well next year.

“The programme I have is going on well and with the partnership with ZTN Prime I am confident I will do well,” said Thixton. Thixton business development executive, Robbie Du Rand said they are looking forward to a fruitful partnership that will see other players coming on board and partner.

“We are very happy with the development which will help Ashy as he goes for the Dakar Rally. We are looking at having some coverage and the coming on board of ZTN Prime is a good gesture. This is an opportunity to lift the Zimbabwean flag high and we hope to see more partners and corporates coming on board. This is just the beginning of a journey that will see our partners having relevance at the biggest motocross event that has seen numbers grow with each passing year.

“We are confident that he will do well and his programme is well in line and he has been following it religiously. We are hoping that he will take his training to some top class training facilities as early as next week.

“With the experience he has so far we are hopeful he will do well and leave a mark at the world stage. ZTN Prime general manager Nomsa Nkala said they are looking forward to push the Thixton brand and give it relevance in as much as they can.

“We are very happy with the coming on board of Thixton brand and we promise to give them the best with the journey starting right away.

“Sport has grown from lengths and breath and having some top riders coming on board is good for us. This is a unique opportunity and we are proud to be in partnership as this is a good experience.

We are going to promote and put it to the next level. We always want to give our audience the best and through this partnership I think it’s a plus for us,” said Nkala. – The Herald
