THE Forever Associates Zimbabwe Trust (FAZ) Nkulumane chapter, a philanthropic organisation, on Monday donated asbestos roofing sheets, trusses and cement to a Bulawayo family in Nkulumane suburb whose house was gutted by fire.
The initiative is inspired by Zanu-PF First Secretary and President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa’s philosophy of leaving no one and no place behind.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, FAZ Nkulumane constituency leader Cde Emison Maravanyika said FAZ was committed to assisting needy families in Nkulumane constituency.
“When we received word that one of the families in our suburb had fallen victim to a house fire, we decided to help out by mobilising donations to help rebuild the house,” he said.
Cde Maravanyika said FAZ will also engage Zesa Holdings to restore electricity at the house.
“FAZ is dedicated and ready to respond to all the needs of residents in Nkulumane constituency, which is why we have donated to this family,” he said.
The owner of the house, Mrs Cecilia Nyathi (77) expressed gratitude for the gesture.
“I am very grateful for the donation by FAZ, which shows that they care for us as residents. When my house caught fire last Friday I felt like my world had crumbled,” she said. Mrs Nyathi stays with her grandchildren and one of them is seriously ill.
“When my house was burnt, I was worried since it has started raining. I was approached by a member of FAZ who told me that they were going to help me out,” she said.
