THE Seventh-Day Adventist Church has started building a clinic at Siamwinde Village 1 in Binga District, Matabeleland North province, which is expected to enhance access to healthcare services for locals. The Siachilaba Adventist Health Centre is located in Ward 10 under Chief Siachilaba, and will serve 105 village heads with 25 homewards each. Previously communities from these areas would walk long distances to access clinic services, which was difficult for pregnant mothers and those with critical conditions. The construction of the new health facility dovetails well with the Government’s drive of ‘leaving no one and no place behind’ in terms of development. Confirming the development, the church’s West Zimbabwe Conference health ministries’ director, Pastor Khumbulani Ncube, said the clinic project is already being implemented and expected to be operation early next year. sexy Lilly 1 ALL NATURAL ASS “The West Zimbabwe Conference of the SDA Church discovered that villagers under Chief Siachilaba at Ward 10 were walking a distance of over 10km to access medical care and decided to construct Siachilaba Adventist Health Centre at Siamwinde Village 1,” he said. “As a church, we are very health-conscious people and believe that God’s missioninvolves both physical and spiritual restoration as demonstrated by Jesus in his earthly ministry. The construction of this clinic fulfills the SDA Church’s mission of ministering both to the spiritual and physical needs of the community.”
Ps Ncube said construction works began in 2021 and that the project is being fully funded by the church with the involvement of volunteer artisans from Binga North and South. “Currently, the clinic has two nurses’ houses at plastering level, which will be followed by ceiling, floors, tiling and furnishing. “It’s projected that if all goes according to our plans the clinic will begin to function in 2024,” he said. “It is our hope that this clinic will not only treat diseases but will also be a health educationcentre where villagers will access vital education for the prevention of non-communicable diseases and promoting biblical and scientifically proven principles of healthy lifestyles in the community.”
Ps Ncube said developing a local health centre would lessen the growing burden of diseases, which hinders economic growth and development. He said the clinic will offer services such as maternity services, management of chronic diseases, and various common diseases like malaria, which are prevalent in the Binga communities. The SDA West Zimbabwe Conference also operates another clinic at Samahuru in Tsholotsho District in Matabeleland North Province. Commenting on the project, Binga District Development Coordinator Mr Land Siansole commended the SDA church for complementing Government efforts on development. He said he visited the clinic site on Monday to examine progress and was impressed by the work being done by the church. “We are very grateful for the work done by the SDA Church in Binga. We have 19 clinics in the district, one district hospital, one mission hospital, and one rural hospital. “Last week the First Lady officially opened Chisizya Hospital covering Lusulu. We were still having challenges with Siachilaba and the SDA Church has answered the call,” said Mr Siansole. “Some villagers were forced to travel 50 km to Binga Hospital and this move means that will be a thing of the past. “Manpower remains our challenge in these health institutions, instead of five doctors we have two and we have no anesthetist and we refer patients to St Lukes in Lupane, which greatly impacts fuel consumption.”
Mr Siansole said they were also facing power supply challenges in the event of load shedding as their solar system has been down for a very long time and needs new batteries. He said development was a plus for the district as it will also serve people near the Zambezi River who are usually attacked by crocodiles. – The Chronicle
