A bid by former Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko’s son Siqokoqela to get the identity of his biological mother has driven a wedge between the two to the point that they are no longer on speaking terms.
Siqokoqela first revealed that Mphoko’s wife Laurinda was not his biological mother in court papers where he defends himself against charges of raping a relative.
He said his legal woes started after he sent an emissary to his father to inquire on the identity of his biological mother.
On Monday afternoon, Siqokoqela posted on Facebook a picture of a young Mphoko in the company of an identified woman whom he believes could be his mother.
“I am appealing to anyone who may know who this lady is and where she is. An auntie of mine sent me this pic. This could be my biological mother. So many questions are unanswered.
#Helpmefindher,” posted Siqokoqela alongside the picture.
When a user suggested that Siqokoqela asks his father, he said:
“I asked him through his older brother and the next thing i was in serious legal trouble and now we do not even talk.”
Mphoko was not available for comment.
