SOUTH African airline FlySafair is set to launch direct flights to Bulawayo and Victoria Falls from Cape Town and Johannesburg.
The airline joins Airlink and South African Airways in direct flights from South Africa to Zimbabwe.
FlySafair will be the 3rd South African airline to fly direct flights into Zimbabwe after South African Airways and Airlink.
“The ASLC has approved FlySafair’s application to operate flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg to Gaborone, Livingstone, Luanda, Lusaka, Maputo and Victoria Falls. In addition, the airline has been approved for frequencies from Johannesburg to Bulawayo, Nairobi and Seychelles, as well as between Cape Town and Windhoek,” said FlySafair in a statement.
The airline has also applied for direct flights to Harare
FlySafair chief marketing officer Kirby Gordon said:
“We are very excited about these opportunities. We have been planning our expansion to more regional destinations for some time and we are confident that we will continue to bring our same brand of a hassle-free travel to passengers in these markets.
“While this is a big milestone, there is still a fair amount of work ahead of us from an operational perspective.”
Gordon said the airliner applied for rights to operate connections to several destinations in Southern Africa.
